Jan's Spring Plein Air

Jan's Plein Air Class at the Hood Canal Marina, is coming in May 7, 2020 ( Thur. 10 - 3 pm ). This will be a chance, to get out in the open air and paint beautiful Seascapes. Get your travel pallets ready and join her for the first Plein Air outing of 2020 for the Hood Canal area. You can post any comments here and or in the "Works in Progress"/ Plein Air. Just start a Thread and show us your progress or post your finished paintings. Also any photo shots of the Event are welcome here.

May 8th. Here are some great photos of our adventure, from Delores. We had to paint from the Park area, because there were Dock Repairs going on. So we positioned ourselves along the Beach Front areas. A few of us brought our own tables and chairs, but there were also benches, tables and chairs all about. Several Azaleas and other flowering plants as well as displays near the Entry Gang way. The first two are Mona and Charlotte set up near the Marina Market.

It was a challenge and I'm pretty sure we all came away more enlightened. It was a beautiful day, great to see everyone and share our work together, as we usually do. Learned something new about Mt. Washington and saw the " Traveler " for the first time. Mona was kind enough to show me and gave me an idea for another painting. If we're lucky, we may get to do it again next week and I'm already planning for it. It really challenges my organizational skills ( which I don't have very much of ).

Some of us painted Mountain scapes. And some have yet to show their paintings.

They're many more. You could spend days there doing photography and painting. The Marina is a wonderful resource. I'm hoping that the Artists, who were there and those inspired by the scenery will show us some of their work. I'm composing a new composition of the Concrete Boat as we speak. Taking the elements and trying not to get tangents and such.

Today, would have been our second week at the Marina and most of us were looking forward to getting out side to paint again. Looks like the weather doesn't want to co-operate with us, so some of us will find time to paint indoors. I know I will. I will probable get sued, but Delores shared one of her finished paintings of last weeks adventure and here it is.

Delores did a fine painting and captured the feeling of that day. It was a good feeling to be out again with my fellow painters. We all learned a lot and special thanks to our fearless leader, Jan.
