Yesterday was a great day all the way around! I really enjoyed our guest teacher and am ready to try out some new tools/techniques. I felt like I got a lot done between all the chit chat and eating. I really appreciate the birthday love that was shared.

Well deserved, Delores. You are one of my favorite people. My apologies for not taking any photos of the class. There was just too much going on, yesterday. Here is my finished, class painting, on 16 x 20 Arches rough 140# paper and D.S. watercolors, using large flat and round brushes.

That painting is so great on many levels. Brilliant and bold colors, the effect of movement in the trees like wind and the impression of fire. It's really got movement. Don't sweat the pictures. Susan was taking some and I expect she will post them soon.

Thanks for your thoughts, Delores. It was a copy of an Original, so I can't take any credits.

We had 11 Painters in attendance, yesterday! Linda gave and excellent Tutorial on Wild Plants, their structure and how to achieve brush strokes to depict their shapes and forms with different brush techniques. Linda will be hosting Classes, in the future in our area. Jan finished off her Class on Foregrounds, using large flat brushes. It was very interesting to try out. We had a Covered Dish Lunch, in honor of Delores Birthday, with lots of delicious foods and Key Lime Pie for desert. We disgust places to hold classes, for the month of September. Fawn Lake and the Dahlia Farm, Diesen Estates, Whitney Gardens and a couple others. Jan will send out emails to those interested in attending next month. Bruce you really "got it" and it's such a departure from much of your work. Very well done Sir!

Thank you Karen. It's always fun to try out new ( to me ) techniques and materials, in hope that some of it may stick.

This week's class had some happy painters I think. A beautiful warm day at Lynch Creek Dahlia farm set us up for flower painting. Lots of chattering doesn't always make for lots of paintings tho.

That's true, but we still managed to enjoy each others company and see all that beauty.
