Jan's Watercolor Class for the Month of February 2020 was on Sea Creatures. Jan provided several reference photos of animals and also allowed us to choose our own Topics. One week was Nudibranchs on Yupo Paper.

Well now you could participate hear. I think, maybe in the future, Jan will offer classes on the forum. There certainly are options here to do just that.

There are many Instructors out there to help get the minimum amount of materials to get started. You of course, already have some brushes. Blick, Jerry's and Cheap Joes all have ongoing Sales all of the time and also offer Tutorials on how to use them.

I order from Blick a lot as they have many of my art supplies and Laura's fabric dyes and craft items she uses in her quilting!
