Going back to the 17th Century and starting a Metalpoint Journal. Using an Etcher cotton paper, 140 lb. For now, Golden Silverpoint Ground primer, with different watercolor tints for back grounds.

This truck looks right up your alley (er, barn). Looks like it's been waiting to be painted by you for a long time.

Thanks Dee! Been in my Barn for awhile, but scared to try. Want to try a watercolor also. Used Silver and Copper points.

Nothing looks comfortable about that pen-you must have worked up a callous with all your writing.

I mostly used the black, smooth one, which is like holding a paint brush. Actually, you use very light pressure to draw on the surface of the Ground coatings. Not fatiguing at all. Haven't drawn enough yet, to tell. You must lay a sheet of blank paper on the surface, where your hand touches, in order to not leave oils from our skin. Clean hands aren't good enough. Don't know how DaVinci and the others did it back then. Almost a lost art, but very rewarding to try out. When you hold it at an angle, near the light, you can see the silver or gold sheen. I want to turn a few more hard wood stylus on the lathe, so as not having to change the different metals tips.
