Hello painters,
Susan Casey has generously offered us a new place to paint! She lives at Fawn Lake, which is South of Shelton. Please check a map for directions to get to the starting point at Cole Road Park and Ride. It looks pretty easy, but if you are coming from South of Shelton, you might want to take a more direct route.
Here is the information and the photos that she put together for us:
Plein Air Painting Session
Date: Thursday, August 27, 2020
Location: Fawn Lake Cabana, Shelton
Time: 10 am - 3 pm
Driving directions:
From the Cole Road Park and Ride, take a left on Cole Road. Head 2.1 miles to the Fawn Lake entrance. (You will go over the train tracks - Shadowood is on the left).
The Fawn Lake gate is on the right, just after Shadowood. Follow directions for entering code #136 at the gate. This will ring Susan's cell phone so that she can open the gate for you remotely.
Once through the gate, take an immediate left on Crescent Drive. Stay on Crescent until you reach the direct opposite side of the lake. A road down to the right will lead to cabana visitor parking which is in direct line with the little bridge. (See attached map.)
The cabana (which has running water and picnic tables) can be found on the left - about 100 feet away - as you head to the lake. The restrooms will be on the right.
