I missed the painting fun this week but I'm looking forward to celebrating with Nancy next Thursday. I went out on last (rainy) Sunday and took photos and today started my sketch of koi pond while I was in the covid-queue. Those fish don't care if it rains.

Trying to guess what that machine is, Bruce ..... a steam boiler or something like that? The little bird seems to like it!

Sorry. Guess I should explain. That is the working end of a steam driven cabler ( Steam Donkey), which was used to drag lumber to collection points for transport, in the Lumber Industry, back in the day. It is on display at the Lake Kokanee Park, next to our Gazebo. They also had portable Steam Donkeys, which would power up their equipment. The Mason County Historical Society probably has many photos of all the De- Forestation Equipment used back in the day. And yes, the birds seem to like it very much. We had a pair of Mallards and several Canada geese supervising our work and looking for hand outs.
