Commissioned Portraight of " ZAP " the wonder dog. Zap is Winston's best buddy and has my neighbor, Pat, as his pet person. Zap travels back and forth to Arizon to stock up on Green Chillies, for his snacks. Zap is going to be on a sheet of Arches, 140 lb. cold press 12 x 12 paper. I transferred his likeness onto the paper, using my light table, then soaked and stretched the paper, then stapled it to Gator Board and letting him dry. I'll also tape the edges later and start choosing my pallet.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Joe. I'm hoping Zap will like it. Seeing as Zap doesn't shave much, applied masking fluid on whiskers, hair and highlights in the eyes.

Oh - ZAP is looking darling. I just painted a dog, too that has just passed away and gave it to her owners yesterday for their 'shrine' for Elska. Forgot to take a picture of it, darn it.

Bummer! I bet it was very nice. Thanks for checking in Dee. Hope to get this one finished and all my obligations will be caught up........ at least in watercolors.

Washed the background areas around Zap, then applied mixed salt crystals, splatter and water droplets for textures.

The paint was still wet, when it was taken. Here it is dried and the salt removed. Next comes the hard part.
