Watercolor class at Whitney Gardens.NOVEMBER 12 Nancy has found a new place for outdoor painting: Whitney Gardens near Brinnon. They have lots of green houses and other covered outdoor areas for painting. Nancy has obtained permission from the owner for us to paint there. Whitney Gardens is best known for their rhododendrons, and is a very popular spot for Mother’s Day. This time of year, they have fall colors. Nancy took some photos and they are attached to this email. There is a nominal cost/donation to enter the grounds. Please be generous, when supporting our local growers and their products. Whitney Gardens is located right on Hwy 101. whitneygardens.comMaps duckduckgo.com/?q=Whitney+Gardens%2C+Brinnon%2C+WA&t=vivaldi&ia=web&iaxm=places

This might be a great chance to paint Botanicals or still life. A great opportunity to introduce ourselves for some further ventures. I hope Jan's shoulder is feeling better soon. Special thanks again to Nancy for helping to set this one up.

Jan said she won't make it this Thursday, but several of us have expressed an interest in attending ( 5 so far ). Whitney's is about a 35 minute drive North from Hoodsport, for those of you driving up there. Cass might make it also from Quilcene. The weather report looks pretty wet, but we have access to indoor or covered places to paint. Such are the woes of Plein Air Art. Dress warm, wear your longies and gloves. Lake Cushman got a little snow last night.

Thanks Joe. It was a little uncomfortable, but still fun and we have permission to come back anytime. So we'll look into a Spring outing next. There are several awesome areas for painting along the well maintained creek, which flows along the souther edge of the property. There are countless shrubs, trees and flora, which bloom at all different times of the year. Thanks again to Nancy for setting this up with the owners. We also had a new person Becky, who stopped by to check us out and perhaps we'll see her participate in a later Plein Air Watercolor outing. It would make it even better, if some of the others would weigh in their experiences of what they liked or dislike about the get together.
