Here is Jan's Post for her next up coming Class at Faun Lake/ Dahlias. Hi everyone, Hope all of you are surviving the smoke and heat. We had an excellent day at the cabana at Fawn Lake. There were 8 of us, and it stayed comfortable in the cabana all day. No class on September 17. On September 24, we are going to meet at the Lynch Creek Dahlia farm. We will stay long enough to take photos and then drive to the Fawn Lake cabana, where we will paint from our photos and memory. The Dahlia Farm is close to Fawn Lake. Date: September 24 Time: 10:00 am Location: Lynch Creek Dahlia Farm, 1880 SE Lynch Rd, Shelton Cost: $20 Call me if you have any questions. Nancy Gannon has a great new spot for our October 1 date. We will paint an old estate home and garden, north of Hoodsport. We will have lunch at Hama Hama Oyster Co, so let me know if you are interested, as reservations are required for lunch. Let me know if you plan to attend, Jan The Hardware Distillery Co. jan@hardwaredistillery.com PO Box 129, Hoodsport, WA 98548 206 300-0877

It should be fun trying to replicate some of the beauty of these wondrous flowers.

It was a blustery, rainy, windy day at Faun Lake today. Five of us showed up, first at the Lynch Creek Dahlia Farm, took photos and some bought bouquets for the outing. We set up in between cloud bursts, rain, wind, sun, but we were well protected in the shelter and had ample room to set up our work stations. Jan gave a great presentation, with pass outs on composition and different loose Dahlia paintings. We all learned a lot and had fun sharing our experience. Here are some photos of the class and some of our paintings, which were mostly unfinished. Who says you can't have fun in the rain. Special thanks to Susan, for hosting the event at her Community Shelter. The Lynch Creek Dahlia Farm has about 14,000 hand planted Dahlias and over 200 different varieties. The flowers are available June thru October for the modest sum of $5 a dozen or $10 a large bundle.
